Managing Assets
What is a Valuation Group?
A Valuation Group classifies assets by the type of data they require. For example, Real Estate assets require fields such as property type and surface area, while Borrowings require loan amount and interest rate. Each Valuation Group has its own dedicated input form and its own report section.
What is the difference between Investment Portfolio, Family Assets, and Operating Participations?
These are the three Performance Types in Finticx. The Investment Portfolio is the core of the reporting module and covers financial assets such as bank portfolios, real estate, and private funds. Family Assets and Operating Participations are additional categories with more limited reporting options, as they are typically not the primary focus of wealth managers.
How do I add an asset that spans multiple geographies or asset classes?
Select "To be allocated" from the dropdown for the relevant classification field (e.g. Geography, Asset Class, Sector, Currency Exposure). An Allocation tab will appear where you can define the percentage split across multiple values. All percentages must add up to 100%, and each allocation requires a Start Period.
Can Finticx automatically value listed assets?
Yes. For Direct Participations and Instruments with a valid ISIN, Finticx can retrieve market prices automatically. Enter the ISIN in the asset's master data and provide an opening quantity. Finticx will then calculate NAV as Quantity × end-of-day market price for the last trading day of each month.
